The Scream franchise is set to join other slasher films like Friday the 13th and Black Christmas, as it is set to get a reboot.
According to Variety.com, the reboot will be helmed by Matthew Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the same directors of the 2019 horror-comedy film Ready or Not.
However, the website also added that the film-makers have not released any other comments about the reboot. The original 1996 film made fun of all the tropes of slasher films… some of which were made famous by its esteemed director Wes Craven, who also made The Hills Have Eyes, The Last House on the Left and the original Nightmare on Elm Street.
