Guzman, 32, who plays firefighter Eddie Diaz on the outlandish Fox procedural, found himself under fire this weekend from his co-stars after he posted an Instagram video defending his fiancée’s use of the racial slur in the past.
But on Monday, he posted a video changing his tune. “I do not condone the use of the N-word by any non-black person. That includes all Latinos.
That’s not our word. I came from an angry place. I couldn’t think straight, and I misspoke.” The controversy started on Sunday, when he posted a video defending his fiancée, Brazilian actress and model Chrysti Ane, who used the slur in tweets from 2011.
