According to Department of Work and Pension (DWP) statistics over 13,000 people are receiving Personal Independence Payments (PIP) with their primary condition being an infectious disease.

This disability benefit offers a range of financial support depending on how much the condition impacts an applicant’s life, from £114 up to £737 per month.
