Zoe Ball has apologised for leaving her BBC Radio 2 breakfast show early on Monday after "not feeling too well". The presenter, 51, took to Twitter to issue an update over her absence as she revealed that her tyre had burst on the way to work in the morning and she hadn't realised the impact it had on her.

Zoe penned: "Apologies for this morning gang, tyre went on the way in to work. I was so keen not miss the show, dashed in and hadn't quite realised the effect it'd had on me. "I'm ok.

During Monday's episode, Richie Anderson stepped in to host the show as the presenter explained: "It's me, Richie Anderson and I'm in because Zoe's not feeling too well unfortunately, so she's had to go home." Richie hosted the BBC Radio 2 breakfast show until 8:30am when Ken Bruce then took over the presenting duties.
