Zayn Malik, former One Direction star, has paid a touching tribute to his late bandmate Liam Payne during a concert in his hometown, just 10 days after his funeral. The 31 year old singer told the audience at The Halls venue in the University of Wolverhampton: "I've been doing something, at the end of the show, every night, and it's been dedicated to my brother Liam Payne.

Rest in peace. I hope you're seeing this, we're in your hometown tonight, Wolverhampton, this is for you, Liam." Social media footage shows an emotional Zayn, originally from Bradford, West Yorkshire, honouring his friend at the conclusion of his performance, part of his Stairway To The Sky tour.

A poignant message displayed on a blue screen read: "Liam Payne 1993-2024. Love you bro" accompanied by a pink heart. The father-of-one had previously postponed the initial dates of his tour in Edinburgh due to Liam's funeral, which was also attended by their fellow One Direction members Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan.

Zayn departed One Direction in 2015 before the group took an indefinite break in 2016, with all members embarking on solo careers.
