Zac Efron to Star as a Convict in Comedy Movie Alongside Will Ferrell

Zac Efron is taking on an exciting new role. The 37-year-old High School Musical alum will star opposite Will Ferrell in an untitled comedy directed and written by Nicholas Stoller for Amazon MGM, THR reports.

At one point the movie was titled Judgement Day, per the report. Keep reading to find out more… Here’s a plot summary: “The story follows a young convict fresh out of prison who takes a reality TV courtroom hostage, blaming the megalomaniac TV judge, played by Ferrell, for a past ruling that the convict feels ruined his life. Zac will star as the convict.” Further casting details and production dates have yet to be revealed, but stay tuned.

If you didn’t know, Zac‘s acting abilities came into question recently due to his brother’s appearance on The Traitors.
