Thomas McCann, 49, had been jailed for life to serve a minimum term of 12 years and 182 days. Yvonne McCann, 46, and McCann got into an argument at their Brinnington home over frozen chips being left out of the freezer, Manchester Crown Court previously heard.
McCann, of Rosslave Walk, then attacked her, strangled her, and dismembered her body before dumping the body parts in bin bags in a recycling centre and a nearby beauty spot.
