Abbie Potts lived like any other young woman with the rest of her life ahead of her - employed as a carer, working out in the gym and socialising with friends.
However, a sudden attack of a little-known condition changed everything for her. Abbie, 25, now lives in a care home, paralysed from the waist down, reliant on a wheelchair and forced to ask for help to fulfil her most basic needs, Chronicle Live writes.
In July 2021, Abbie returned to her Wallsend home after an evening out on the town with friends in Newcastle, where she suddenly suffered a seizure followed by a migraine.
Her symptoms were so severe that she was admitted to hospital, staying in the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle for four months and marking her 25th birthday from an inpatient bed.
