Young woman distraught after 'skeleton mask' man pulls knife on her on quiet canal path

A mum has issued a stark warning after her daughter was confronted by a knife-wielding man in a skeleton mask on a canal path near Glasgow.

The 22-year-old was out walking on the canal path between Bishopbriggs and Lambill near the Leisuredrome Sports Centre when a man started walking closely behind her and breathing on her neck.

The young woman, who has been walking the same route for the last seven weeks of lockdown, turned around to find a man wearing all black, with his hood up and a 'skeleton' mask across his face, standing directly behind her.

The suspect, who is thought to be around 20 years old, then pulled a knife from his pocket.The young woman has been left traumatised after the terrifying incident on Tuesday night.
