Young victim of fatal attack in Moss Side named as cops appeal for information

This is the young victim of a fatal attack in Moss Side. Javell Morgan, 20, lost his life after being knifed on Claremont Road in the early hours of Monday (August 15).

Police are treating it as murder, though more details about the horrific incident have now emerged. Mr Morgan, from West Yorkshire, died as a result of stab injuries, Greater Manchester Police said.

It was originally thought he was shot, police added. He sadly died in hospital. Formal identification has now taken place. They have requested privacy at this time. "Now a Home Office post-mortem has been performed, we can confirm that Javell sadly died as a result of stab injuries, not by a shooting, as was originally thought. "As the investigation progresses and all lines of enquiry explored, we are still keen to hear from anyone who may have any information to assist our ongoing investigation." Last night (Wednesday), cops confirmed a violent knife brawl that broke out just metres away from where Mr Morgan was attacked was not related.
