Two young leaders from Perth and Kinross are celebrating one year as a member of the sportscotland Young People’s Sport Panel (YPSP).The national programme provides a platform to represent the voice of young people in Scottish sport.Louis Gallagher and Molly Sands have played a crucial role in helping to influence and shape the future of sport in Scotland over the past 12 months as part of their role as a YPSP member.Their work on the panel has also ensured that young people’s views are heard and valued.Despite the challenges of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, Louis, Molly and their fellow members have helped deliver a number of key projects including the creation of three working groups (disability sport, access to sport - overcoming poverty and school sport).The working groups are focused on helping make sport more inclusive to more young people.Other key successes include the launch of the Young People’s Sport Podcast, taking part in development sessions for the sportscotland School Sport Award, judging for the Young Scot Awards and creating vlogs and blogs for Young Scot.Panel members also played a lead role in the Feel Your Personal Best campaign, which was delivered in partnership with SAMH (Scottish Association for Mental Health) and aimed to help everyone feel the benefits of physical activity and sport.Louis, who is a cricket coach at Perth Academy and a member of both Scone Thistle and Perth Doo’cot Cricket Club, said: “My highlight so far is undoubtedly having the chance to meet so many wonderful new people.“Despite not being able to meet in person for quite a while, the panel felt like one big family right from the first few online meetings.“Everyone brings a slightly different energy to the panel, so it makes
