A young girl was horrified when she saw her mother get hit by a car while the whole family was walking over a pelican crossing in Cheshire earlier this week, repeatedly saying to her mum "I thought you were dead".
The elderly driver of the vehicle that hit her claimed he had a right of way, before driving off. Melissa Bloor, 38, was walking over the crossing by Market Hall in Congleton on Tuesday (January 23) when the car failed to stop and drove right through her, after running a red light.
Missing her children by inches, the car hit Melissa and caused her to fall onto the bonnet of a Peugeot 206, before she fell onto the road.
Her husband, 39-year-old Miles Scott, ran over to talk to the elderly driver of the silver car, who is said to be in his 80s, but the man shouted at him that he had a right of way, before driving off - leaving Melissa sitting on the pavement and her whole family in shock, reports CheshireLive.
