Eccles. Following last night's suspected drive-by style shooting, a large cordon and forensics tent remained in place and some of those who have lived on the street for a long time have become resigned to expecting a certain level of crime in the area.
It was only in January that hitmen walked into a house in Furrow Drive, just yards away from Anson Street, and shot a man twice and in recent months, gun crime in Salford has been bubbling to the surface with high-profile incidents including shootings in Weaste and on the border with Cheetham Hill.
