Firefighters were called to the blaze in St James Grove, in the Poolstock area of the town, at about 4.20pm on Sunday (June 20).

Two women were taken to hospital after being injured in the fire, according to Greater Manchester Police. Despite the efforts of medical staff, a woman in her 30s died a short time later.
