‘Yellowstone’ Creator Taylor Sheridan Teams With Blake Shelton for CBS Singing Competition ‘The Road’

Ethan Shanfeld “Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan has teamed up with “The Voice” alum Blake Shelton on a new singing competition titled “The Road.” The series will be launched by CBS as part of the network’s fall 2025 schedule. “The Road” will follow a music superstar on a journey to discover the next big artist, with budding singers joining the headliner on tour, performing as opening acts in venues across the U.S.

The singers will compete to win over local fan bases in order to secure a spot in the next city and remain on the tour. The headlining artist has not yet been revealed.

According to CBS, “‘The Road’ offers viewers a backstage pass into the gritty and unforgiving life of a touring artist. With exclusive access to the behind-the-scenes workings of the music industry, viewers will see what happens when some of the best up-and-coming performers pile into a tour bus and tackle a grueling schedule in pursuit of their dreams.” The series is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, David Glasser’s 101 Studios and Shelton and Lee Metzger’s Lucky Horseshoe Productions.

Executive producers include Sheridan, Glasser, Shelton and Metzger, who was an executive producer on “The Voice.” Shelton and Sheridan are no strangers to reality TV.
