Ahead of this week’s episode of the hit Showtime series, Simone Kessell opened up to Deadline about the “terrible” conclusion to Lottie’s arc and bidding farewell to the character in ’12 Angry Girls and 1 Drunk Travis’. “It was horrible.

Also the filming of it, we filmed in this dirty, gross dungeon,” she recalled. “I had to lie on the floor, and it was horrible.

And lighting guys were like, ‘oops, sorry,’ stepping over me, and I’m like, ‘It’s fine, it’s fine, could you get off my hair?’ It was just like such an unglamorous way for Lottie to go, and I got a little emotional I just lying on the floor.” Kessell continued, “But I was just saying that you put so much paint on your canvas as an actor, especially with such a colorful character such as Lottie.
