The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for ice as temperatures plummet.Wintry showers are expected to affect northern Scotland as well as areas of the Scottish borders from this evening and into tomorrow morning.
Periods of snow and sleet will fall, resulting in icy stretches forming in parts of the country- according to The Met Office.
One to two centimetres of snow is forecast in parts of northern Scotland, with up to five centimetres falling on higher ground.
A weather warning for ice is in place from 6pm this evening - December 1 - to 10am tomorrow morning - December 2.Highs of just 3C are expected in northern areas of Scotland over the next two days, with maximums of just 1 °C are forecast in the Grampian area tomorrow.
