Angelique Jackson Actor and producer Yara Shahidi has signed with Objectively Good Management (OGM) for representation. Shahidi is best known for starring in ABC’s “Black-ish” and its spinoff “Grown-ish.” Shahidi also executive produced the Freeform show, which wrapped up its six-season run in May, under the 7th Sun Productions banner she runs with her business partner and mother Keri Salter-Shahidi.
7th Sun Productions is signed to a multi-year overall deal with ABC Signature, which expanded in 2022 with the addition of a collaboration with Onyx Collective. “I’m thrilled to welcome Yara Shahidi to the OGM family,” stated Mohamed Kheir, the company’s president of management, in a statement announcing the signing. “Yara’s talent, intellect and commitment to impactful storytelling, both as an actor and producer, make her a unique force.
We look forward to supporting her as she continues to break new ground and inspire audiences around the world.” The 24-year-old multi-hyphenate’s acting resume also includes the Amazon Studios film “Sitting in Bars With Cake,” which she starred in and executive produced; Disney’s “Peter Pan & Wendy,” where she was the first person of color to portray Tinker Bell; a voice role in Netflix’s “My Father’s Dragon”; Apple TV+’s “Extrapolations”; and the Disney+ docuseries “Growing Up,” where she directed an episode.
Shahidi will next star opposite Keith Powers and Renée Elise Goldsberry in the coming-of-age romance “Bloom.” On Nov. 20, Shahidi will launch “The Optimist Project,” a weekly podcast created and co-produced by 7th Sun Productions for Sirius XM.
