An XL bully will be put down after it 'chewed' a man's arm in the street. The dog was being walked by a man for a family member in Gateacre in Liverpool yesterday morning (Sunday) when it turned on him, the Liverpool Echo reports.
The XL bulldog slipped from its lead and started acting aggressively. The dog then attacked the 60-year-old man, who suffered serious injuries to his arm and was taken to hospital. It will now be destroyed, a spokesperson for the force said. Following the attack, one neighbour reported seeing the dog 'chewing' on the man's arm.
Another said that he came out of his house to see what was going on and saw five police cars on the usually quiet street. He saw an ambulance at the scene and said police cordoned off all of Station Road and parts of Station Road South.
