Jennifer Maas TV Business Writer Xbox will release all-digital versions of its Series X and S consoles this holiday season, Xbox president Sarah Bond announced during the Xbox Games Showcase Sunday.

Additionally, Bond teased that Microsoft is developing the “next generation” of its console offering. “It’s our mission to make Xbox the best place for you to play by including the titles from our own studios in Game Pass at launch, by bringing your games into the future with our commitment to game preservation, by pushing the technical boundaries in our future hardware, and empowering you to play your games anywhere you want on Xbox consoles, PC, and cloud,” Bond said. “This is what defines Xbox today and in the future, and we’re hard at work on the next generation.” Per Xbox’s announcement, the new consoles have estimated retail pricing (ERP) set at: Xbox Series S 1TB in Robot White for $349.99/€349.99, Xbox Series X – 1TB Digital Edition for $449.99/€499.99, and Xbox Series X – 2TB Galaxy Black Special Edition for $599.99/€649.99.

Xbox’s Series X and S systems hit the market in Nov. 2020, the same month the PlayStation 5 console launched. Pre-order details and final regional pricing for the three new Xbox consoles will be released at a later date.

Bond’s announcement about the new Xbox digital-only consoles came amid a slew of title drops and first gameplay footage released during Xbox Games Showcase 2024.
