Mark Evans, brother of Wynne Evans, has expressed his 'unwavering support' for the star following news that he's been axed from the Strictly Come Dancing tour. The Go Compare star, 53, was caught on camera by The Mail on Sunday making an inappropriate sexual comment about Janette Manara, as revealed this past Saturday.
He later apologised for the “inappropriate and unacceptable” remark, but reports broke earlier today that the Welsh opera singer would be axed from the remainder of the tour.
Confirming his departure in a statement this evening, Wynne said that he will “take some time out” from his radio show and the Strictly Come Dancing live tour.
He said: “I’ve agreed with the BBC that I’ll take some time out from my radio show and the Strictly Live tour, as well as my other public commitments, to prioritise my wellbeing. “I am deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate actions have caused, and plan to take this time for self-reflection. “Apologies to those I won’t get to see at the remaining performances and I’m grateful to my fellow tour gang for all the amazing support they have given me.” Earlier today, in a statement posted on X, Mark Llewelyn Evans affirmed his brother's 'heart of gold' amidst the controversy, pledging his unwavering support during this "difficult time." He wrote: "As a brother, I want to express my unwavering support for him during this challenging time", reports the Mirror.
