A van driver who threatened a man with a wrench in a fit of "road rage" has been handed a suspended sentence.Jordan Gardner was initially charged with causing grievous bodily harm after a confrontation with another man on Garnett Street, Ramsbottom, on October 22, 2018.The pair had become involved in an argument after Gardner's van was blocked in by the other man's car.
A "scuffle" followed in which the car driver was left with wounds to his head.However, following a trial, a jury found the 35-year-old not guilty of causing the injuries and instead guilty of the lesser charge of possessing an offensive weapon.At Bolton Crown Court today, Judge Martin Walsh heard Gardner had been subject to 14 previous convictions for 21 offences in the past.
