Mason Mount looks set to become a Manchester United player after a £60million fee was agreed with Chelsea. United have been in hot pursuit of Mount for several weeks, seeing three bids worth up to £55million knocked back by those in charge at Stamford Bridge.
Fresh talks continued earlier this week and look to have made headway, and the Manchester Evening News understands a fee has now been agreed.
The initial fee for Mount will be £55million, with the final £5million subject to appearances and success during his time with the club.
United sources have insisted they would be happy to eventually pay £60million, given it will mean Mount has been a major success.
