Woolworths stores roll out new bag options at checkout!

For the first time in 40 years, Woolworths customers can now choose to pack their groceries in brown paper bags. Starting today, all branches of the Aussie grocery giant will offer shoppers paper bags as well as the normal reusable plastic carry bags.

After being successfully trialled last year in 20 stores across the country, old-fashioned paper bags seem to meet customers' needs for an easily recyclable disposable bag option.

Image: Woolworths Each paper bag has a carrying capacity of 6kg, so there's no worry about the handles tearing. The paper bags are available for 20 cents each and are made of 70 per cent recycled paper, certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.
