A 'despicable' stalker who broke into his victim's house and crept into her bedroom as she slept has been jailed. Phillip Robinson, 40, of Warboys, Cambridgeshire, had subjected the woman to a campaign of stalking months before the incident, police said.
However, it escalated quickly and on the night of June 11 Robinson climbed through an unlocked window at the victim’s home and made his way upstairs.
The victim woke with a jolt to find a man standing at the foot of her bed. She recognised Robinson and shouted ‘what are you doing – get out!’ which woke up other family members.
As they managed to get him outside he repeatedly said he was sorry.
