A historic Scots estate dating back to the 19th century has been destroyed following a fire. Fire crews rushed to the scene at Gartshore Estate, Kirkintilloch at around 10.10pm on Saturday, January 15.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) deployed six fire engines to the area and the blaze was extinguished. Police Scotland also attended to help with road closures in the area, which was soon made safe by the firefighters.
East Dunbartonshire Council also confirmed Waterside Road between Drumgrew Bridge and Langmuir Road was shut the following morning.
Lyn Sawyers, whose family have owned Gartshore Estate for 40 years took to Facebook to share photos of the damage caused.She also wrote: "After observing the complete destruction of a place that meant the world to me, I've been left utterly speechless at how cruel some people can be."This place has been in my family for over forty years.
