Woman trapped in car after crash with ambulance carrying patient near hospital

A woman was left trapped in a car which crashed with an ambulance carrying a patient near Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy.Two children also had to be rescued from the vehicle as emergency services raced to the scene with a total of six casualties needing help including two ambulance crew and their patient.The incident happened just after 4pm on Monday, March 11, at Hayfield Road.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) confirmed they attended after a woman from a private vehicle had become trapped.Photos from the scene show part of the road cordoned off with several fire appliances and ambulances attending.A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said: "We attended Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy at 16.03.

Three appliances attended. "The accident involved an ambulance and a female was physically and medically trapped in a private car.

Two children were removed from the vehicle."There were six casualties in total. Their condition in unknown. We left at 16.46."A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 4.05pm on Monday, 11 March, 2024, police received a report of a two-vehicle road crash on Hayfield Road, Kirkcaldy.
