A woman is set to stand trial after being accused of plotting to impersonate candidates in driving theory tests as part of a learner permit scam.42 year old Alina Glont, currently on bail, was presented today before Judge Gerard Jones at Dublin District Court, where the prosecution handed over a book of evidence against her.This transpires following a probe by the Garda National Economic Crime Bureau (GNECB), initiated in March 2021, concentrated on driving permits obtained through fraudulent means.
Residing at Charlestown Place, Dublin 11, Ms Glont faces charges with two counts of conspiracy under section 71 of the Criminal Justice Act 2006. The accusations include unlawfully using a computer within the State to sit driver theory tests pretending to be others, thereby obtaining test pass certificates illicitly.
Furthermore, she's charged with executing deceptive acts during the same timeframe "by unlawfully undergoing driver theory tests in the names of third parties to induce the issue of driver theory test pass certificates" aiming either to gain or inflict a loss by deception, reports Dublin Live.
