But if you want to really blow away your guests, you may want to take it a step further.To help people get into the festive spirit and elevate their tree to new heights, one woman on social media shared a foolproof hack that makes your tree look 'extra bright' and impressive this year.The tip was shared by Irish mum Kelly Fitzsimons on TikTok, who frequently posts helpful decorating and lifestyle hacks she's discovered, as well as snippets from her family life.And according to the 32-year-old, you can make your Christmas tree look even more bright and impressive by making one change to the tree's trunk.

In her video, which has amassed an impressive 433,000 likes at the time of writing, Kelly wrote: "Try putting lights in the trunk of your tree this year, makes it extra bright."She showed herself gathering together a few rows of string lights, ready to go on her bare tree.

Taking the first string of lights, she began to wrap them around the trunk, starting from the bottom and working her way all the way to the top.
