Woman risks losing £1,000 and holiday cancelled due to three-month passport delay
dailyrecord.co.ukA woman faces losing almost £1,000 in holiday costs after failing to renew her son's passport.Jenny Craig, 43, said she applied for a passport renewal for her son Isaac 12 weeks ago.However, the family is concerned their holiday to Italy, which takes place in just under a month, may not go ahead.
This comes after the family had to cancel a previous holiday to Morocco at Easter due to the same issue. Speaking with the Mirror, Jenny believes she has spent probably two days on hold trying to resolve the issues surrounding her son's passport.
It's now at the point where she is beginning to accept their holiday may not happen. She said: "We waited until a week before we cancelled our trip to Marrakech… we knew it wasn’t going to happen.
We are trying to go to Italy in May, in about four weeks’ time. I’m pretty sure it won’t happen.“If we don’t get confirmation that the passport has been processed by the end of next week, then we’ll assume it won’t happen for us. “Getting through to someone has got worse.
