A park in Stockport has been taped off by police after a woman was reportedly raped. The shocking incident in Heaton Mersey was reported at around 5.30am this morning (Thursday), police said.
The victim is being supported by specially-trained officers. A man has been arrested on suspicion of rape. He remains in custody to be quizzed by detectives.
This morning, Thornfield Park is cordoned off by police. Officers said the incident was reported on Priestnall Road, which is close to the park.
All entrances to the park are blocked by police tape. Officers are standing guard at the scene In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "At around 5:30am on Thursday 25 August 2022 we were called to a report of a rape on Priestnall Road, Heaton Mersey.
