A woman poured boiling water over her sleeping boyfriend and filmed the attack before posting it on to Snapchat, prosecutors allege.

Alexis Sykes, 22, was then claimed to have hid her victim's car keys from him while he 'watched his skin fall off his arms.' After fleeing she was later caught and arrested before being charged with two counts of aggravated battery by caustic substance and two counts of aggravated domestic battery.

Prosecutors claim that in the early hours of January 2 this year Sykes poured a pot of boiling water on to her boyfriend while he slept on the sofa in the apartment they shared in Roselle, Illinois.
