A woman has told of her utter devastation upon finding out a horror crash close to her home had claimed the life of her mother.
Kathleen Kirby was killed after an unlicensed driver fleeing police ploughed into an Amazon van and sent it spinning onto the pavement, where it hit the much-loved 66-year-old.The grandmother-of-nine was rushed to hospital but tragically passed away before arriving.
Her daughter, Rachel Bartram, bravely spoke at Bolton Crown Court yesterday as she addressed her mother's killer, 32-year-old Chad Rimmington.Rimmington, who has never passed a driving test, was spotted by police driving a silver Audi TT at speed in Wigan on Monday, June 26.
When asked to stop by officers, he sped off, sparking a high-speed pursuit, the Manchester Evening News reports.Rimmington, who was on bail at the time, reached a top speed of 78mph in a 30mph zone as he tried to evade cops.
