A man grabbed a woman from behind as she walked through woods and told her not to scream in a chilling attack. The terrifying incident happened as the victim was walking home through Alkrington Woods in Middleton at around 6.45pm on Wednesday (August 3).
She first noticed a man who was standing near to the duck pond, police said. She believes it was this man who then grabbed her from behind as she walked and put his hand over her mouth.
He also grabbed her around the waist and told her not to scream as he 'had a knife'. She bravely managed to pull his hand from her mouth and screamed for help.
