OAP Gillian Duffy, famously called a “bigoted woman” by PM Gordon Brown 10 years ago, said she is worried about migrants who have lost their jobs in the current crisis.

Lifelong Labour supporter Gillian, now 75, had only nipped out for a loaf of bread when she spotted Mr Brown on a walkabout and put him on the spot about the national debt, pensions and immigration.

His furious private reaction was picked up on a microphone and helped hasten his downfall. But Gillian insisted she has no regrets and now, more than ever, it is important for ordinary folk to hold politicians to account.
