A woman was cut from a car and taken to hospital after a crash in Tameside this morning. Emergency services were called to the scene near The Arcade building on High Street in Stalybridge at around 7am.
A car smashed into a pole, police said. Firefighters freed a woman from the car and she was taken to hospital with a neck injury.

In a statement, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "At around 7am this morning (01/08/2022) we received a call about an RTC outside the Arcade on Stalybridge. "A vehicle had collided with a pole and was suspended at an angle –fire attended the scene to help the driver out of her vehicle.
