Woman appears in court charged with murder of care worker after disturbance in Stirling

A woman has appeared in court charged with the murder of Stirling woman Michele Rutherford.Kellyanne McNaughton, 32, from Stirling, appeared at Stirling Sheriff Court today (Thursday).She was charged with murder and two counts of assault to injury.McNaughton made no plea and was committed for further examination and remanded in custody, with her next court appearance scheduled within eight days.

Click here for more news and sport from the Stirling area. Ms Rutherford, 54, died following a disturbance in Craighall Street, Raploch, on Tuesday, March 7.Police were called shortly after 11am.

Ms Rutherford was taken by ambulance to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, in Glasgow, where she died a short time later.Two other women, aged 29 and 58, were also injured.Dozens of heartfelt tributes have been paid tor Ms Rutherford on social media.
