A 31-year-old woman tragically died after falling into an 80ft blowhole whilst walking along an clifftop, an inquest heard.
Laura Jayne Newcombe was visiting Trevose Head, Cornwall, with her partner, when she plunged into a giant circular hole in the cliff, known as Round Hole.
According to the Mirror, it was originally a sea cave, before erosion caused a large hole to appear at the top. The treacherous site, which is very close to the cliff edge, has no fencing around it.
There have been debates over the years about whether it should be made safer or not.An inquest held into Laura's death on Tuesday, August 16, at Pydar House, Truro, heard that no one witnessed her fall on June 29, 2021.
