Woman, 26, travels 8,000 miles for £16 after finding UK transport 'expensive'

Courtney Allan surprisingly says she spent less than £16 on transport costs throughout the entire trip. Initially, she had planned to spend just three weeks in the UK, having booked return flights from Toronto to London.
However, Courtney soon found transportation in the UK to be expensive, leading her to attempt hitchhiking from Bath to Wales as an alternative.
Her first experience of hitchhiking in the UK was a positive one. "My first lift was with a Welsh woman," Courtney said. "She was so bubbly and she tried to give me money.
