Wishaw boss David Dunn admits his side are hurting after failing to take something off of West of Scotland Second Division leaders Renfrew last week. The Beltane Park side lost out 1-0 to a Ciaran Divers header in the first half, despite creating a hatful of chances, and Dunn says his side were unfortunate to come away empty-handed from their first competitive outing in over a month. He sighed: “If you were at the game you wouldn’t have thought we were near the bottom of the table and Renfrew were top.“There was nothing in the game and we missed a lot of chances.

We had three or four one-on-ones with the goalie and we hit the post as well.“Their goal comes from our mistake but the one positive was we didn’t look like losing more goals, as we have done in the past this season.”All the comments afterwards from Renfrew were very complimentary.

It’s alright hearing that but the bottom line is we need to get points.”I can’t fault the boys for their performance and they are really hurt that we didn’t take anything out of the game.”It leaves Wishy 14th and just inside the relegation zone, but with games in hand, and they now face a massive clash at home to 13th place Ardeer Thistle this weekend.Dunn added: “This Saturday is huge for the club."If we beat Ardeer we could go two places above them and we’ve still got a few games in hand.“We need to turn up and make sure we don’t go and shoot ourselves in the foot.

We are in a false situation with the games in hand but it is very tight and everyone seems to be beating everyone.“A couple of wins is really what we need.
