Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitová has given birth to her first baby. Fittingly, the Czech professional tennis player welcomed her son with her husband and tennis coach Jiří Vaněk during the same week the annual Championships are held in London.
Sharing the exciting news of their arrival, the official Wimbledon Instagram account posted an adorable snap of Petra and Jiří's bundle of joy. They added the caption: "Congratulations to our two-time champion Petra Kvitova on the birth of her first child, Petr." The pro tennis star mum, who became Wimbledon champion in 2011 and 2014, shared the same snap on her own Instagram account.
She added the simple caption: "Petr, 7.7.2024", confirming her son's name and that he was born mid-way through the grass-court Grand Slam.
Her son's name, Petr, is the Czech spelling of the name Peter. It's also a sweet tribute to her own name, Petra, being the feminine version of Peter.
