Thania Garcia On Monday, The Seoul Metropolitan Government and South Korean internet company Kakao announced the construction of a new arena in the Seoul area dedicated to K-pop.The Seoul Arena — which is scheduled to be established in Chang-dong, Dobong-gu — will hold a ceremony in June after the approval of future implementation plans and is expected to be finished in October 2025.The arena promises to have over 18,000 seats with a capacity of 28,000 people for standing performances. The project also features a medium-sized performance venue with a capacity of 7,000, a movie theater, and other commercial facilities.Pulse News reports that Kakao will be in charge of operating and maintaining the Seoul Arena for 30 years after it opens, while the venue will be owned by the city government.

Amid the novel coronavirus pandemic, Fox Corp. — the slimmed-down media firm that emerged from the $71.3 billion sale of 21st Century Fox assets to Disney — has been given a stable rating from S&P Global.

Guggenheim Securities analyst Michael Morris on Thursday upgraded his rating on Fox Corp.'s stock from "neutral" to "buy" and downgraded Walt Disney from "buy" to "neutral" in a report that updated his financial forecasts for entertainment industry companies "to better reflect the impact of COVID-19 behavioral changes on revenue drivers and additional diligence on key cost considerations." He highlighted that Fox's primary immediate risk was from advertising exposure, estimating that about 43 percent of the company’s fiscal year 2020 revenue was from advertising.

ViacomCBS has disclosed plans for a $2.5 billion debt offering, an effort that comes as the newly merged company faces tough scrutiny of its growth strategy and balance sheet amid the coronavirus-related economic crisis.

Fox Corp. said it will acquire Tubi, the ad-supported free streaming service, for $440 million in cash.

The U.S. government has purchased millions of dollars in corporate bonds issued by entertainment giants like Fox Corp., Comcast, AT&T and others as part of a debt liquidity program spurred on by the novel coronavirus pandemic.
