For the last seven Cheltenham Festivals, two Irish trainers have had their own private battle to be 'top trainer.' Willie Mullins and Gordon Elliott normally send around 50 horses to the major horse racing fixture- and come away with plenty of winners.
Mullins, who won his first Magners Cheltenham Gold Cup with Al Boum Photo last year, also took the trainers' title, while it was Elliott's in 2017 and 2018.
Both have saddled eight winners at the meeting previously, but it is Mullins who is fancied to come out on top this year. Despite Elliott having 'bankers' Envoi Allen and Tiger Roll in his stable, Mullins is as short as 8/13 to bag another trophy.
