Neil Francis Lennon (born 25 June 1971) is a Northern Irish football coach and former player who is the manager of Scottish Premiership club Celtic. During his playing career he represented English clubs Manchester City, Crewe Alexandra and Leicester City.
Lennon moved to Scottish club Celtic in 2000, where he made over 200 appearances and was appointed captain in 2005. Before retiring as a player, he returned to England and played for Nottingham Forest and Wycombe Wanderers. Lennon made 40 appearances for Northern Ireland in nine years, scoring two goals. Lennon was appointed manager of Celtic in March 2010, initially in a caretaker capacity after the departure of Tony Mowbray.
Willie Miller reckons Neil Lennon should "absolutely" be considered for the Aberdeen job - and named four reasons he's a standout candidate.
Lennon has been out of work since leaving Omonia Nicosia in October and has been in the media in the build-up to Sunday's Viaplay Cup final between his old side Celtic and rivals Rangers.
He's also had plenty to say on his future and while he hinted on talkSPORT on Friday that none of the vacant jobs at present appeal to him, he said on Saturday's BBC Sportsound that he's "refreshed and ready to go" and ruling nothing out.Miller was speaking after Lennon's interview aired and the Pittodrie legend made no bones about the fact he would take the former Parkhead and Hibs boss as their next manager.
He said: "I would think absolutely. The experience he's got, the clubs he's managed, the level he played at and the hunger that he seems to still have."He spoke about it there, missing the feeling, and it is a magnificent feeling.
