Kate Middleton and Prince William have marked International Women's Day by paying tribute to the Duke of Cambridge's grandmother Queen Elizabeth.
In the post shared on Instagram on Tuesday 8 March, the royal couple gushed over the 95 year old monarch and said she'd "inspired a nation" over the course of her reign.They wrote: "In this very special #PlatinumJubilee year, we celebrate Her Majesty The Queen and her historic 70 years of service on #IWD2022. "Mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and Head of State, The Queen’s extraordinary reign has been longer than any other monarch in British history - inspiring a nation and dedicating her life to the service of the Commonwealth and its people." People have since taken to the comments section of the heartfelt post to express their respect for the monarch.
One person wrote: "Thank you Queen Elizabeth for your dedication and service," as someone else said: "What an amazing woman." "A Very Happy International Woman's Day To You Dear Queen," penned someone else, while a fourth person shared: "he is such a remarkable woman and I’m happy to be seeing her reign with my own eyes." The royal couple also paid tribute to a series of other inspiring women to mark International Women's Day, and gave them a shout out on their Instagram story.
