Wild life of 'shark punching' boxer Paul Sykes inspires movie starring 'obsessed' actor

sharks "in the f***ing earhole", jail time and a glowing endorsement from notorious prisoner Charles Bronson - the wild life of cult hero boxer Paul Sykes was always destined for the silver screen.

And now, it's finally happening with filming on a £2m movie set to start soon.But the lead actor is yet to be named, sparking interest among fans, with the rumour mill in full swing.Sykes, a straight talking Yorkshireman, was considered one of Britain's hardest inmates.He did multiple stints in prison for a series of robberies and violent assaults, spending a total of 21 years locked up.A movie based on his life is being created with the help of author Jamie Boyle, who has written several books on Sykes.

He revealed filming could start this summer. Independent filmmakers, Western Edge Pictures, are behind the project.They are planning to film in Wakefield, including the Lupset estate where Sykes lived, as well as in Pontefract and Leeds.Jamie said: "Western Edge Pictures are working on a film at the moment and they say as soon as that has finished, they will throw everything at Sykes."The script has been written and it will start from 1989 when he was 43 years old."Sykes had his first brush with the law when he was 17 years old.He spent much of the 70s and 80s inside and was locked up in a total of 18 different prisons.During this time, he met the notorious criminal Charles Bronson.In his book, Legends, Bronson wrote about Sykes.
