‘Wicked Part Two’ Gets Title Change Before 2025 Release

Jon M. Chu’s second Wicked film, previously known as Wicked Part 2, has now been titled Wicked: For Good. The change references a highly anticipated song and duet between Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) and Glinda (Ariana Grande) in which the pair sing about how their frenemies relationship has impacted their lives forever.

The second film has already set a release date of November 21, 2025. Grande, Erivo and Chu posted a video of the title change on Instagram.

A post shared by Wicked Movie (@wickedmovie) The first film from Universal surpassed the $500 million milestone at the global box office over the weekend, adding $22.5 million in its fourth frame domestically and $21.5M from 81 offshore markets.

Wicked: Part One‘s worldwide total is now $525M. Both films are adapted from Gregory Maguire’s 1995 novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, which tells the origin story of the Wicked Witch of the West and her former friendship with Glinda the Good Witch.
