Wicked fans fume after behind-the-scenes footage from Ariana Grande movie teases surprise cameo
ok.co.ukEagle-eyed Wicked fans have been sent into a frenzy after spotting a familiar face in a behind-the-scenes featurette for Universal Pictures' forthcoming musical.
Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo are leading the cast as Galinda Upland and Elphaba Thropp names that fans will recognise as the iconic duo, Glinda the Good and The Wicked Witch of the West from the beloved Oz tales.
Directed by Jon M. Chu of Crazy Rich Asians fame, the first instalment will light up cinema screens this November. However, a featurette shared to YouTube which shows behind-the-scenes moments on the film's set has given fans a glimpse at a potential major cameo that was previously undisclosed, reports Wales Online.
Eagle-eyed devotees noticed Broadway sensation Kristin Chenoweth, who earned her stripes (and a Tony Award nomination) playing Glinda on stage, in the midst of the clip in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment as an Oz native.
