Former Premier League referee Mike Dean says Rasmus Hojlund's Manchester United goal was rightly ruled out by VAR despite the assistant 'understandably' missing it.

United had started well against Brighton and Hove Albion in the opening stages but found themselves behind against the run of play.

A momentary lapse in concentration allowed Danny Welbeck to tap home from six yards to haunt his former club. The Reds managed to rally and were nearly level when Marcus Rashford hit the crossbar.
