Fans are devastated that The White Lotus‘ theme song for season three has completely changed. Composer Cristobal Tapia de Veer, who wrote the season 2 theme song, “Renaissance,” shared that he thought it was initially “terrible.” It eventually became a huge hit among fans, however. Keep reading to find out more… He created the season 2 theme after The White Lotus was renewed by HBO, and creator Mike White requested some Italian elements be put in to match with the show’s new setting. Cristobal told Variety, “I took a little time to make an intro that would have those elements with things like a little harp, and some opera singing and some orchestral beats…And once I had that intro I started figuring out how to bring back the elements that are recognizable from the first season, which are the voices. [The original singer] wasn’t there when I made the demo but I did take her voice.
